Here I have compiled some questions I get asked frequently, and other address some recent changes to my business model.  This is for your convenience, but please, do not hesitate to contact me directly, specially if you don't find the answer to your questions!

What is a sitting fee and why do you charge one?

A sitting, or session fee, is a non-refundable charge for my time and talent before, during and after the photo session.  It does not include any printed images.  This fee is non-refundable and secures your session date and time.  In the event that I do not show to the scheduled photo session, you will be entitled to a full refund if you choose to do so, and the photo session is canceled.  If you need to make changes to your session date or time, we ask that you call us at least 24 hours in advance to keep your paid session available.  You have 12 months to reschedule a portrait session with me with that paid fee, from the date we received your payment.  If you decide not to purchase any prints from your session, the fee is also non-refundable.

Why do you charge for digitals?

As an artist, I take pride in my work, and I ensure that my clients receive the best quality products by purchasing printed materials through me.  I have carefully selected professional laboratories that match the quality my clients and I expect.

In this digital age is easy to expect to receive the 'negatives' of the work; and understandably so, as many want to share those beautiful images with family and friends through the web, or saving them in their phones; I certainly do it.  And this is something that not too many years ago was not even an option; no one expected to receive a film negative of their photo session.  Of the Giclée canvases from my favorite painter I own, I never received the digital copy of his work nor would I ever expect it.  I haven't even got the recipe from my favorite Italian restaurant!

I do, nevertheless offer digital of the portrait sessions for purchase, so that you can share, set as your computer backdrop or your social media profile picture! (It is an honor to me when a client uses it that way and shares it!)  These digital images do contain my signature/watermark, as they are still copyrighted material.  You will receive a limited copyright release to print up to a 5x7 at any lab of your choosing, and for personal use only.  You may not alter these photos (i.e. apply filters, remove watermark, Photoshop or re-edit, etc.) as it is considered a copyright infringement.

My website and/or social media sites will host at my discretion, and by clients' approval (by signing a model release form) only images that the clients have paid for or purchased.  In this way you can easily share those images with family and friends!

How long do you keep the files from a session?

I encourage my clients to get the products they want as soon as possible, as there is no guarantee that those will be available three, ten or fifty years from today.  But what you can do to increase the odds of your photographs to be around for 100 years or more is to get them in print (quality print), just like our grandparents and their grandparents used to do...  There are circumstances beyond our abilities that we cannot control; and as I am able and willing to keep the images for many years, there may come a time where I may need to make some room for new clients and new memories.  (As of the end of 2015 I have sessions files saved from 2010).

Do you offer "Digital Only" packages?

The only "Digital only" packages I offer are for Headshots, Special Events (excluding Quinceañeras or Weddings), Sporting events and Real Estate.  These categories often exclusively use digital files (in particular professional Headshots and Real Estate).  These events are charged by the hour or by specific contract and files are delivered to the client usually within 24-48 hours, and includes thousands of images.

Do you have a business license?

Yes.  I operate a business in NV, and possess a NV business license.
